A warm welcome to my page. I am Susan-Marie Meredith, I am a integrative counsellor/psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling Practice, Animal Assisted Therapy Diploma, Pet Bereavement Counselling Diploma, Cruse Bereavement trained and have volunteered providing Counselling for Mind Mental Health Charity. I continue to work on up-to-date training for my continued professional development and practice.
Our healing journeys are our own unique paths and can happen with a tailored approach to suit each client, whether that be face to face, online, in the company of animals, out in nature or within groups. I can provide a safe, warm, confidential space for you to explore your circumstances, I will listen with empathy, non judgement and will be congruent within our therapeutic relationship and work to support you in overcoming difficulties you are currently experiencing.
You may find you are struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, bereavement, stress, relationships, LGBTQ+ related issues and are looking to find some relief, find insights into what may be blocking you towards your health and happiness.
Whatever difficult circumstances you may be facing, going on a therapeutic journey can be a step towards your own empowering journey of self-awareness and transformational changes. Within your journey I can work with you to start to overcome obstacles, explore ways to handle difficult circumstances, increase positive feelings, which can lead you to start to make healthier decisions and work to reach your own goals.
My counselling approach includes person-centred, gestalt, emotion focused therapy and transactional analysis. I work with an open mind and will use the most appropriate approach, tailored to each client with my main focus being on supporting clients in becoming self-empowered thought self-awareness.
I recognise how taking that first step towards therapy can prove a little difficult however, I guarantee that I will allow space for autonomy in a non-judgmental manner. This will allow room for organic growth and a positive therapeutic relationship.
If you are interested in working with me, I offer a 15-to-30-minute initial telephone consultation at no cost to you. This will give us a chance to introduce ourselves, discuss your needs and explore how we can work together. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions in order for you to make a better- informed decision on moving forward.
I offer face to face locally to my area as well as providing online and telephone sessions, this can be provided both to local and UK clients as well as globally.

Home Visit (OAP only) £35

WALK AND TALK/ECO THERAPY SESSIONS
I offer individual walk and talk/ eco therapy sessions, this may benefit clients who do not want the restraints of being inside. Just like face to face or online sessions, we agree a place to meet for the therapy session and will be walking amongst the many beautiful places within Swansea and Gower areas, which is best known for its breath-taking beaches and parks.
The benefits of being outdoors in nature are increased wellbeing, lower anxiety, stress and depression. Walk and talk therapy may benefit clients who enjoy being outside in nature rather then in a therapy room environment. For new clients wanting walk and talk therapy sessions an initial online/face to face counselling session will take place in which we can go over safety and confidentiality aspects of walk and talk sessions.

Currently I offer animal assisted activities with clients and their own pets, enabling you to interact with your pet in a different way, helping to support your mental health and well-being. Canine walk and talk therapy is optional.
